Our Story

A quiet love letter, stitched by hand.

Brooklyn & Co. was born in a small Darlington home in 2026, when our founder Brooklyn Burnside searched for a christening gown soft enough for her newborn niece — and couldn't find one she'd want to keep forever. So she made one. Then another. And another.

Mother and newborn in soft natural light

Today, every Brooklyn & Co. piece is still designed in Darlington — cut from GOTS-certified organic cotton, knitted in soft British merino, and finished by a small circle of makers we know by name.

We make a little, slowly. We avoid synthetic dyes, restrict our palette to the gentle tones that flatter every nursery, and obsess over the small details: the give of a neckline, the warmth of a bootie, the way a bonnet ties just so.

We believe a baby's first wardrobe should outlive its first year — saved in cedar drawers, lent to cousins, folded into memory boxes. That's why our pieces are built like heirlooms, and priced for keeping.

The Founder

Brooklyn Burnside

"I wanted to build the brand I wished existed when I held my niece for the first time — one that treats baby clothes the way we treat the people inside them. Carefully, tenderly, and with no shortcuts."
